March Enrichment

The sisters had a blast last night at Enrichment. We celebrated the Bday of the R/S. We started the evening out by sitting at tables according to our Bday months. This helped us get to know some sisters in our ward that we might not otherwise have the chance to talk to! We found out neat things about each other! Sister Williams, our Enrichment Leader, led us in this fun game! Here are some of the things that I heard about the sisters in our R/S:
--We had 2 sisters that were mother's day babies,
--one sister that put a snake on her Teacher's desk in grade school,
--a sister that danced/sang in a rock band,
--a sister that had recently taken a trip to London,
--we had a sister that was a NY native and several native Floridians,
--2 sisters said that they were cheerleaders (one was also a gymnast that went to State Competitions)
--a sister that played the clarinet in highschool,
--a sister that owns her own beauty shop,
--a sister that loves ceramic crafts,
--a couple of sisters that lived in a bunch of states (because of military lives),
--one sister has supplied flowers for sacrament meeting for over 40 years,

There were so many wonderful things shared last night--this was just a few!!!

We had a wonderful lesson by Sister Irma Ward about the history of Relief Society! Sister Ward does an amazing job sharing fun and spiritual lessons! She started out w/ a joke--You know you are getting old when you have all the answers--but no one is asking the questions :) (Telling jokes is not one of my talents--so if I messed that up--I'm sorry Sister Ward!!)--You just have to come to the Enrichments and get it from the source--cause Sister Ward shares wonderful messages!

We also heard from our amazing R/S President--Sister Ellis. Our special guest speaker was the President of the Inverness Pregnancy Center! She expressed thanks for the food order that was provided to her organization and for all the baby donations that were gathered last night. (All the sisters brought baby items and put them in baskets). These donations go to new mothers in our community who can't make ends meet. The new mothers have to earn points by doing good works, continuing their education, etc. These points allow them to earn the items that the Pregnancy Center has available--no freebies! It's a wonderful organization--and we are honored to be able to help them. The Pregnancy Center said with today's economy--they have more young mothers than ever before--so they really appreciated our generosity!

Robyn Kanis (2nd Counselor in R/S Presidency) announced the Mini Enrichments for the next quarter:
--Orlando Dry Canning Trip (See Robyn Kanis)
--Lecanto Jam Canning Trip (right across from the church)--(See Karen Ellis)
--Tote Bag sewing (to help YW get ready for a service project at Girls Camp)--(See Stacey Bomhoff)
--Time Out for Women Book Club--April Book (21 Days Closer to Christ) (See Brittan Mitchell or Jessicca Romney)

We also had a delicious feast of Bday Cake/Icecream, Little Sausage Dogs in BBQ sauce, and an assortment of Chips and cookies.

Thanks Sister Williams, Sister Sampson, and the R/S Presidency for your hard work in organizing and setting up this wonderful Enrichment! We had a blast!
